Welcome Message - Airventure Virtual Staff

Around mid-late July, one tiny city in Wisconsin USA gets swarmed by all types of aircraft from across the globe for one week. The city is Oshkosh, and the residence of the town are welcoming to the roaring sounds of aircraft engines, from Wittman Regional Airport, as it is the host of the largest gathering of aircraft in the world. Airventure, hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), is a unique airshow/fly-in event that attracts over 10,000 GA aircraft every year! With full week day and night airshow performances, from both civilian to military performers, Oshkosh is the place to be if your an Avgeek!

This week long event series plans to simulate real life day in and day out operations of Oshkosh Airventure right in our own mobile phones through Infinite Flight! Read down below for more information on some of the awesome event’s that we have planned throughout this awesome week!

Rules & Regulations

Like most things, there are a few rules and regulations to maintain order during this mass event. Please read over all of them prior to the event!
Discord Rules & Regulations

RULES FOR DISCORD SERVER

Note: Disregarding of these rules can be punished with a warning. After three warnings the user gets kicked from the server for 24 hours. After violating rules to a certain amount Staff will speak to the possibilities of being banned permanently.

  • Stay respectful to everyone
  • No racism / discrimination / abuse / +18 content.
  • Only adequate content suitable for all age groups
  • No advertising other servers or Events without approval from Staff only
  • No spam
  • Using every channel for the right purpose.
  • Staff members are not allowed to use their role for abusive purpose or they will be suspended
  • If you’re spectating please do not Taxi/Takeoff without clearance from staff of IF-EAA, IFATC or Event Host/Airboss
  • If you are a display pilot please respect and wait for allocated times given by event host to display.
  • Do not interfere with the Music Bot unless given permission by staff when in use
  • Do not request for a display slot when an airshow is happening
  • Do not speak unless important when announcers are speaking for a display.
  • No spectators allowed in non spectator channels

SETTINGS

  • Volume
    • Mach One Productions (Rythm Bot) must be lowered to allow everyone to hear the staff & narrators.
    • All performers (Blue Label) are permitted to have open microphones, you may adjust their mic-volumes independently.
    • All announcers (Orange Label) are permitted to have open microphones.
    • All staff (Yellow Label) are permitted to have open microphones, and they will frequently change channels.
  • Mute / Deafened
    • Every spectator must be muted, it signals to the staff that you will not interfere with the performance.
    • If you have an open mic or continue to speak when not authorized by staff, you will be deafened or muted by the staff. If this continues to occur, you will be removed entirely from the audio call.
    • No backlash is acceptable from those who interrupt the performers, we will enforce the rules stated above.
  • Audio Channels
    • Each channel is created for a specific purpose.
    • Spectator Chat:
      • Used by spectators, staff and performers.
      • Performers may speak in this channel but only to communicate to the announcer, to entertain the crowd.
      • Announcers use this channel to entertain the crowd, provide other information as well as to advertise our partners.
      • Staff will visit the channel to ensure that everything is working smoothly, and that all the spectators are indeed muted.
    • Pilots Chat:
      • Used by performers and staff.
      • Performers are permitted to speak in this channel, it is for communicating between one another as well as alerting staff to move them between channels.
      • Staff are permitted to speak in this channel, they will move pilots between the two channels when requested by the announcers, and they will moderate to be sure that the pilots channel is on task and professional.
Airspace Rules & Regulations

RULES FOR AIRSPACE

  • Show Center

    • Boeing Plaza / A2 & P2
  • Crowd Line

    • Taxiway PAPA
    • Do NOT fly over the crowd, and do not fly west of taxiway ALPHA (If avoidable)
    • Closest performers can get to the crowd line is EAST of taxiway ALPHA
  • Aerobatic Box

    • LENGTH ( North / South )
      • North of Runway 36
      • South of Runway 27
    • WIDTH ( East / West )
      • No further WEST than taxiway ALPHA, when performing aerobatics.
      • North South Road ( Oregon St. ), just East of the East Hangars.
    • HEIGHT ( Altitude / Ceiling )
      • At or above 500ft
      • Below FL180 (18,000ft)
  • Runways

    • Runway 18/36 will be in use for all aircraft.
    • Runway 09/27 will be used if winds are not safe for light aircraft (GA/WRBD)
    • Aircraft are permitted to backtaxi 18/36 for takeoff on runway 36.
  • Taxiways

    • Taxiway PAPA is closed for performers.
    • Taxiway ALPHA is approved for taxiing.
    • Back taxiing runway 18/36 is allowed.
  • Arrivals

    • No arrivals are allowed during airshow times.
    • Aircraft entering our airspace to perform, without landing, then departing the airspace immediately after must inform the airboss during the morning briefing or sometime before hand.
    • In case of emergencies only (Emergency Fuel) you will have to divert to Appleton International Airport KATW, Green Bay International AIrport KGRB, Milwaukee Gen. Mitchell International AIrport KMKE, or Madison International Airport KMSN.
    • The airspace will be closed to all arrivals during all show times, you are interfering with the event and we kindly ask that you use other airports and spawn to spectate the show.
    • Arrivals are allowed once the Air Show is complete, all performers have performed and are parked, you will have to use unicom as the ATC ( Saturday ) will be closing after the last performer has landed.
  • Departures

    • Departing aircraft may exit the airspace after their display is over, but they will have to communicate with the airboss about their intentions during the morning briefing.
    • Departures will be allowed after the show is over, all displays are completed and are landed, but no aircraft are allowed to depart the airspace during the show at all.
  • Frequencies

    • General Usage
      • Ground will be utilized for taxiing.
      • Ground will be contacted when on a taxiway or ramp area.
      • Same procedures that are used for any other airport will be used for ground frequency.
      • Tower will be contacted when ready for display, or for back-taxi clearance.
      • “Remaining in the pattern” will be requested for those who are performing their display.
      • Same procedures will be used for CTAF ( Unicom ).
  • Back-taxiing

    • Runway 18/36
      • Aircraft larger than a Cessna 208 / TBM-930 will have to utilize runway 18/36 for back-taxi for takeoff on runway 36
      • All other aircraft may use taxiway ALPHA
