IFATC Tags

I think all IFATC should get tags on the community saying so, so people can easily tell who they are in the incident of ghosting, and other problems. This would help immensely when contacting controllers, etc.

I think there should be a topic with the list of all the IFATC and their IFC usernames. This could be essential when looking for IFATC for whatever reason it may be (ex: feedback or saying good job). All IFATC, I’m guessing, have a forums account, for they have to contact a staff member and take the test. Your guy’s thoughts?? Example: IFATC _____ - @their_username

🤔simply put NO. I don’t even like people using it in their display name in app. If you’re controlling on the expert server isn’t that already implied.

That’s quite a lot of menial labour. If the aim is to find the controller easier the database is a much easier and cleaner way for everyone. Perhaps, Discourse’s Groups function could be utilised as I’ve never seen it being used

There’s “groups” already. You just have to be in one and it’s not public…

If we letting xxxx group get a tag then where does it stop, ie if IFATC get tags then why not IFAE ( Editors) if the editors can then why can’t IFAE group. I’m would like to think its an avenue FDS would not go down, but these days who knows what they will decide to do ¯_(ツ)_/¯

IFATC would be getting tags for the purpose of being able to easily get in contact with IFATC members for complaints, comments, etc. Everyone getting tags would be pointless, but there are many other groups that could use them.

And that’s the issue. If one group gets them everyone wants them, It would eventually cause such a headache for FDS it wouldn’t be worth it & it also creates a “status” issue. “We have tags & are therefore much better than eveyone else”

What’s wrong with the current system, if I have an issue with IFATC Joe Blogs, I see his display name & some screenshots and the issue gets resolved by Tyler & the ATC thing. Why try and fix something that’s not broken.

I see where you are coming from, however, anyone can become an Airport Editor. IFATC is much harder to achieve, and users must go through a rigorous process to get in. I do agree, however, how when you give one person a toy, everyone else wants it too.

Adding onto what you said, the people with the tags (such as IFATC, or IFAE) would have earned their tags for working hard enough to achieve membership in one of those organizations.
