Kaiya_0501's Supervisor Story

I’m Kaiya. I am 19 soon to be 20 years old. My love for aviation has always been there since I was little. I have been playing Infinite Flight for a long time but took a couple years break. I picked it back up at the start of 2023. I found IFATC and the application process, questioning whether to do it or not. After a week or so I did apply, in February 2023, looking back on it now I don’t regret it at all.

Started of going through training with my trainer assigned to me, Levi_Park. That was a blast, learning from his vast experience. He was always helpful to me, teaching me the correct ways to control. By March it was my practical. Passed it first time thanks to his excellent training. Also want to thank my recruiter then Othman_A for this process too. Controlling on Expert server for the first time was fun and well worth the training.

Immediately after joining, I was attending training sessions to help bring other controllers into IFATC. Racking up quite a lot in 30 days attended, maybe too many looking back on it haha. But they are fun too. I entered into my check ride opening bigger airports for the first time. Shortly after, I had passed my check ride phase, I was released into controlling Local services for any airport in the world.

As I continued attending Training sessions I met some amazing people along the way. Each of us different in our own ways but having the common ground of loving aviation. As soon as I could, I applied to become a officer, going through training again. It is a lot more demanding than local but so rewarding too. Especially in high terrain. I flew through this training, due to the amount of training sessions I attended. This gave me a good head start and by the end of June 2023 I was a officer, able to open any radar facility in the world. I want to also thank my recruiter Ramzi_Khairan and my trainer Kitick for this. Kit went over and way above during training, answering all of my questions, showing me I could handle more than I thought I could.

Even after all this, I kept attending Training sessions as I still believe in helping others join in IFATC or progress within. They are always a blast, especially in Danish’s sessions (many people in IFATC will know what I mean haha). I personally now control smaller airports, as much as the big traffic is fun to control and a challenge. The smaller airports don’t tend to get too much attention. So I like to do this, EGJJ is primarily my favourite to open being very close to my home island EGJB.

IFATC is a great community, I have met so many incredible people along the way. All happy to talk, share knowledge, answer questions, you name it. IFATC is for everyone. It is a great place to be.

By complete surprise to me, I was recently (January 1st 2024) promoted to supervisor, an amazing start to the year. Which is a massive privilege, to which I thank those for believing in me with this and trusting me with this. I hope to do them proud. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way. I can’t wait to see many more people join IFATC.

I can’t wait to see and continue my journey on Infinite Flight and within IFATC. Hope to see you in the skies.

CompetitiveDivide320’s Supervisor Story

My journey to IFATC Supervisor has been nothing short of an exciting trip through the Infinite Flight skies, filled with challenges, accomplishments and a deep sense of friendship.

It all began with my humble start at various virtual airlines to meet new people, where I gradually worked my way up through the ranks at Etihad VA, from pilot to recruitment to COO and eventually CEO. Passing the initial IFATC test, with the help of Declan and the infamous LordWizrak, marked a significant milestone and I was surprised to see the scale of the IFATC server and how everyone collaborates together to control the expert server. Subsequent radar training and tests with centre controller extraordinaire LesterXavier and Chris Hoss, challenged me to develop my skills further, navigating complex (and often horrific) scenarios, such as Kabul and Quito alongside managing diverse traffic patterns.

My journey, however, was not purely about personal achievement. Along the way, I found fulfilment in contributing to the IFATC community. Serving on the appeals team allowed me to assist fellow pilots, addressing issues and ensuring a fair and supportive environment for all, which is a quality close to my heart. This role deepened my understanding of the importance of clear communication, empathy, and fairness.

The responsibility of guiding and shaping the next generation of IFATC specialists and officers came shortly afterwards, leading to my promotion to a Trainer. This role has been incredibly rewarding albeit requiring much patience at times, allowing me to share my knowledge and experiences with our newest recruits. I would encourage you to consider joining the team when you can!

I was surprised to receive an email entitled ‘IFATC - Supervisor’ as I taxied on to the runway at Paris post my Christmas trip home and my data connection dropped before I could open it! It was great to land back in my home of Singapore to be able to open it and read! As I now take on the role of IFATC Supervisor, I carry with me the lessons learned from my journey, from navigating the skies as a pilot to managing traffic as a controller. You are sure to find me open around Dublin (EIDW) often! I am excited to contribute to the continued excellence of IFATC, moulding a warm environment that ensures the skies remain enjoyable for all and encouraging our team efforts. The journey continues and I look forward to the challenges and triumphs that await on our joined flight path within the IFATC community.

Noahanacooa1's Supervisor Story

Hello fellow aviators!

My name is Noah. I’m 18 and was born in a little paradise island called Mauritius.

My first introduction to Infinite Flight was way back in 2016. From then, I was only playing the single player version. All of this changed when I decided to join the multiplayer side of Infinite Flight in 2022. Not only was it a fun experience flying around and discovering the world, there was also ATC staffed airports to make the experience even better. My dream job has always been ATC so later in 2022 I decided to join IFATC. After the selection and training process, I officially joined IFATC in December 2022.

Thanks to @Antoine_Turrian for recruiting me and to @Aiden_Forusz for being my local trainer and for getting my IFATC journey started.

After some months of enjoying staffing local frequencies, I applied for radar. The training part was tougher than local, but I never backed out and kept giving the best out of me in training. After some months of hard work, I was officially an IFATC Officer in May 2023.

A huge thanks to my Radar trainer, @Alexandre who taught me almost everything about it and without these people, I would had never become a Supervisor.

I continue my journey in IFATC consistently trying to ensure a quality service and learning new things, tips and techniques from other controllers.

On the 1st day of 2024, I got a message from our IFATC manager, Tyler about a promotion to Supervisor. I’m still speechless and slowly processing this promotion and getting myself started in this new responsible role. Once again, thanks Tyler, Bruce and Josh for putting their trust in me.

I’ll see you guys soon in the Infinite Flight sky.

Don’t hesitate to come and visit my home airport FIMP when I’ll open GTASC!

Thanks for tuning in to the tenth edition of Supervisor Stories. These stories and this initiative is designed for community members to gain an understanding of what the journey into and through IFATC can entail and to encourage community members that are contemplating joining IFATC to do so, as it is certainly an experience you won’t regret as shown above by the stories of the supervisors.

And he’s a supervisor now, technically your superior. You must be so proud!

Absolutely he just owes me a big party in Marina Bay or his favourite Sentosa Islands.

He’ll have to pay for your flight ticket first

This series is great, but will there be Declan’s own story?😋
