IFATC Newsletter - June 2025 Edition

Welcome back to the second edition of the IFATC Newsletter… a year after the most recent edition (and first I made), I have decided to continue again! The IFATC Newsletter is made to highlight the teamwork, cognition, stamina, and problem solving abilities the IFATC Team does every single day. I hope you enjoy everything I have to offer today!

Regional Spotlight

In May of 2025, the Infinite Flight team introduced Regional Spotlight, a month long event in which every week a different region was featured. For example, the first region that was featured was Africa, with different featured routes each day of the week until Sunday, when there is a featured route transferring the region: in this case, to Europe. The Regional Spotlight was a welcome edition to both IFATC Controllers and pilots. @CompetitiveDivide320, a IFATC Trainer, Supervisor, and Recruiter (recent promotion! 🎉) of 4 years said, "Controlling the regional spotlight was a great opportunity to shine a light on lesser-known routes and airports. It was refreshing to break away from the usual hubs and give pilots a chance to explore new corners of the map. Hopefully more creative routes will follow!" Having the same old EGLL and KJFK having 100+ arrivals every day is not everyone's favorite, and the Regional Spotlight really switched it up. On the pilot side, @Mort said, "Infinite Flight gives pilots unparalleled access to explore the beautiful planet we all call home. The majority of pilots tend to focus their flights on the well traversed airspace of North America and Europe - hubs like Los Angeles, London, and New York see endless traffic, while other equally stunning and diverse regions often go untouched for the most part. The Infinite Flight Regional Spotlight shone a, well, spotlight, on these parts of these less traffic parts of the world. By organizing an event that takes people to these places, it exposes pilots to a whole new type of flying then what they would normally partake in." Let's hope we see a Regional Spotlight sometime soon again, thank you @Dan for organizing it!
