Use a paper and pencil to draw the scenarios if youâreâ talking about the written version. If youâre talking about the practical ask your trainer and review the #tutorials.
Yes the written test . Ok . ill try implement that . Thanks
Do view all the videos on IFâs YouTube channel.
Here I made a guide for you guys to know exactly what will be on the written and practical.
Itâs a little easier to follow then the YouTube channel.
In addition to the advice they have already told you, read the questions and answers several times, do not rush, even the simplest ones could fool you, good luck!
Learn to count to 5 carefully.
Donât rush, stay calm, if you donât know the answers either come back to it or simply Google the answer :) (Just kidding about the last one)
The only tip I can tell you is this: â Keep Calm <â. This is the most important, you can know all but if you are nervous you can make some mistakes! ;)
Hope you pass the exam! Good luck!
Iâm taking the written test this weekend as well. Good luck!
I just took the written test last week and all of the advice is helpful. Definitely take your time and do use a pencil and paper as things can be difficult to map out in your head alone. I remember on some college exams rushing through them and then checking answers only to realize that I had made silly mistakes.
Thanks for all the tips guys . And of course I must keep calm . Thanks
Imran
Good luck! Hope you do well!
Seems like you have gotten lots of useful tips. All the best ^^
Hard luck! Youâll do better next time, believe me :)
Check your answers - there are occasionally mistakes, you might be able to get that one mark. Even if you donât get that mark - youâll be improving for next time.
Many people said that donât rush it and use a pencil and paper but I just rush it (I use almost the same time you did but I went to the toilet during the test) and didnât use anything to help at all, but still I got 100%. You can try this as it can reduce pressure which in turns reduce mistakes! Just to remind you that it wonât work for anyone, find your own way in doing exams.
This is exactly what happened to me. When I checked my answers after the test I discovered I would have easily passed had I just counted up to 5 correctlyâŚsee my post above. Still kicking myself over it. Iâm due to take it again this week. Pencil and paper does helpâŚand itâs worth investing the extra 10 seconds to ensure you got the answer correct.
My advice to everyone on this thread, as well as anyone taking the test soon, is to use your time.
Time is not a weakness. It is fortitude and resilience. The people who show off their 100% marks in three minutes are more likely to crash and burn on the practical by being too jumpy- Iâve seen plenty of those. Yes, there are exceptions (including intensive studying beforehand, experience, etc), but in general, it tends to happen.
A lot of people think racking up a high score in a short time gives them access to the âcool clubâ or shows off their skills- that is not the case. Sure, blitz through your A levels or AP exams at the expense of looking suave and making your peers nervous, but it can cost you that class you couldâve tested out of, missed by one mark you overlooked.
11:59, a paper is due. Itâll be due then. Doesnât matter how fast you finish it- still due then. Same case with the written test for IFATC. A lot of the greats, whether it be one of our controllers or scientists, are defined by how they utilize their time. Itâs not a race.
You have the time given to answer the questions. Use it.
