I’ll look into the push to talk on android. You do need to speak the exact phrase for it to work, there is no AI to “interpret” what you say.
For using on the same device, not even sure how that would work as switching apps to this app would pause your flight because IF needs to stay in focus. I’m not sure if the IF local API supports it, but you can try to use the same IP address as the same device to see if it connects.
I’m writing a further review of this magnificent app. Now IFATC COMPANION is part of my third-party apps that can’t be missing when I fly with infinite flight. I consider it very important for my parents, so I noticed that it could be improved in some places.
You could enter the descent authorisation near the TOD. So that it is ATC that gives you the descent authorisation.
In my many flights accompanied by IFATC COMPANION I noticed that it does not always indicate the speeds to maintain and the right flights, maybe this could be improved. Another thing to improve is that the assigned gates do not always correspond to the present or real ones of the airport, these should be improved a lot. I always thank you for the excellent work you do and for this wonderful app you have created.
Pity, unfortunately, unless this app can run on PC,I won’t be able to use the app, although I understand it has good reviews, and it seems like a nice addition. Good luck with the developmen5.
A background mode would be possible. Not everything like the active weather deviations that would require interaction but maybe the standard calls throughout the flight. Would you want just the ATC calls or include your readbacks as well automatically?
Ok first version of background mode incoming on both android and iOS. As soon as the stores approve you can update. Got this one out quick so let me know how it works.
Yes android should be released, iOS still in review.
Make sure you get IF loaded in a flight with your flight plan loaded and then open the app, put it in background mode (toggle in settings), and make sure it connects before switching back to IF.
