Florida.
Home to not only the Florida man, but an endless amount of beautiful scenery to explore!
Tomorrow, throughout the day, I will be opening multiple airports in the southwestern region of Florida. Some of you may know that I am from New York, but I go to college in Florida. I have since fallen in love with the state and all it has to offer, and I will be focusing on some smaller and lesser known airports along the Gulf of Mexico such as Key West Int’l, Fort Myers Int’l, and Punta Gorda. These airports are located in areas that have some beautiful scenery to offer, so feel free to fly some VFR and explore the landscape from above, or maybe fly a commercial route up to one of the northeastern hubs that will be open tomorrow as well!
Some general information about these airports:
Key West International Airport (EYW/KEYW) is an international airport located about 2 miles east of the main commercial city center of Key West, Florida. It’s single runway is only 5,000 feet long, meaning all aircraft arriving and departing from the airport have weight restrictions, so nothing bigger than an A319 lands at this airport.

Fort Myers International Airport (RSW/KRSW) is also a single runway international airport located in Lee County, Florida, serving the Southwest Florida region, including the Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island, and Punta Gorda metropolitan areas. The airport sits on 13,555 acres of land just southeast of Fort Myers, making it the third largest airport in the United States in terms of land size, after Denver and Dallas Fort Worth.

Punta Gorda Airport (PGD/KPGD), formerly known as Charlotte County Airport, is a public airport three miles east of Punta Gorda, in Charlotte County, Florida. It used to be mainly general aviation, but has seen a spike in commercial traffic, operating as a focus city for Allegiant Airlines, offering service to fifty destinations.

I hope everybody has a wonderful day tomorrow! This should be lots of fun for everybody, and a great way to relax during such troubling times.
