@Thunderbolt I may fly to KSAN on Sunday to say hi. General question, is it in violation of IFATC rules to not use thrust reversers upon landing?
No. You’re the pilot, you’re flying the plane, we’re the controllers, we control. It’s up to you if you use reverse thrust or not.
Ah, ok. Because I’ve been trying to land a plane using only full flaps, spoilers set to armed, and keeping the nose gear elevated for as long as possible.
Just keep in mind that the runway at KSAN is a bit short.
Actually, it’s pretty short…
Here are my current plans!
2020-04-05T13:30:00Z → 2020-04-05T14:30:00Z
Break for East Coast Madness!
2020-04-05T19:30:00Z → 2020-04-05T23:30:00Z
Hmm ok I’ll see if I can make it. It’s gonna be late night and early morning for me, but we’ll see
Which airport is busier than San Diego? (passenger count)
- Washington Dulles [KIAD]
- Philadelphia [KPHL]
- Portland [KPDX]
- Honolulu [PHNL]
Home field advantage for me 🥵 see u there and thx for opening up this gem
Never knew, interesting! Do you recall when this was?
Very well made post as well!
I believe it ended in either 2003 or 2005, then replaced by a 777 to Gatwick, and then replaced in 2010 or 2011 to the 747 we see today.
I definitely will be there.
I’ll maybe do KIAH to KSAN! I think that’s a route, correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes, both Spirit and United!
Interesting! Only knew about the current B747 to LHR, thanks!
Nice! I’ll be flying a flight here for sure!
I will be open in 10 minutes.
Come by for patterns, fly, and have fun! I will be open for a little over an hour.
I’m opening from now until 2020-04-05T14:30:00Z!
I might come through in the afternoon and fly to a certain airport in Hawaii 😉
I will be controlling KBOS soon due to heavy traffic, then eat lunch.
You can expect KSAN to be back open around 2020-04-05T20:15:00Z
I will be open at 2020-04-05T20:00:00Z.
