IFATC at Home - Long Island KISP

Long Island MacArthur Airport (KISP)

While I do a lot of flying in/out of my nearest big hub, KJFK, my closest airport with commercial service is KISP, Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Serving 1.5 million passengers anually, MacArthur is a mid-size airport home to many GA operations, including commercial service airlines Southwest, Frontier, and American Eagle.

Airlines and Destinations

American Eagle: Philadelphia (E145)
Frontier Airlines: Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach
Seasonal: Fort Myers (winter), Raleigh/Durham (spring/summer), Myrtle Beach (spring/summer)
All of Frontier’s flights are flown on A320/A321 aircraft.
Southwest Airlines: Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach

As you can see, Frontier and Southwest like to compete against each other here. New York-Florida is a very heavy market.

When I Plan on Opening
I plan on opening KISP around 2330Z, and staying open until 0300Z-0400Z.

MacArthur has 4 runways.
Runway 6/24 is the primary use runway at 7000 feet long. Both ends are equipped with ILS.
Runway 15R/33L is the crosswind runway. It is 5,180 feet long. It’s not often that this runway is used for passenger jet departures unless they are very light and it’s very windy.
Runway 15L/33R is the secondary crosswind runway that is rarely if ever used. It is 3175 feet long.
Runway 10/28 is de-comissioned IRL. It is 5034 feet long.

Passenger Terminals:
Frontier operates out of gates B16, B19, A2, and B23.
American operates out of gate A1.
Southwest operates out of gates A3-A8, but primarily uses A5-A8.

NELIE THREE - use this if coming from the north/northwest/northeast

I do not claim authority over any of the photos above.
