Hello everyone my names Declan and for IFATC at home I will be opening the airport that feels most at home to me, Cork! The reason I’ve chose cork is because I have a lot of family in Cork and it is such an under appreciated airport. And I would consider cork my second home and as there’s no big airport near me I shall choose my second home Cork!
About Cork
Cork is Ireland’s second biggest city with a population of 417,211 and is the real capital of Ireland! It is the biggest county in Ireland and has produced some great athletes like Roy Keane, Denis Irwin, Rob Heffernan, Sonia O’ Sullivan and many more! I would consider Cork my second home behind Offaly in fact! It is located in the south of Ireland and has many nice beaches and landmarks like ‘The Blarney Stone‘.
About Cork Airport
Cork Airport is located just outside Cork City. It has two intersecting runways (16/34 and 07/35). 16/34 is 6993ft long 150ft wide and 07/35 is 4294ft long and 147ft wide. Ryanair and Aer Lingus have got hubs in Cork and airlines such as KLM and Swiss fly here along with KLM, Swiss, Air France and a lot more! It is Ireland’s second biggest airport by passenger numbers behind Dublin!
Procedures
•If RW34 is active you shall back taxi down
RW34 and take off from there.
•All commercial aircraft should try to use RW16/34 as 07/25 is a short runway and is mainly used for GA aircraft!
Time I will be open?
I will try open multiple times on the day and as much as I can!
2020-06-21T10:30:00Z
I will try open first at the same time as @Rian16 so that Ireland’s two biggest airports (by passenger numbers) can be staffed at the same time
I hope to see a good attendance!
