Abu Dhabi International Airport is the sole capital of the United Arab Emirates.



About the airport

The airport, located 30.6 km east of the city, is the second largest in the UAE. Serving around 20 million passengers in 2014. It has three operational passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (divided into Terminals 1A and 1B), Terminal 2, Terminal 3. Abu Dhabi International Airport is spread over an area of 3,400 hectares 8,500 acres. Its terminal spaces are dominated by Etihad Airways, the country’s second flag carrier airline, and the second-largest airline in the UAE after Emirates. More than 30 airlines offer service to over 120 destinations in more than 60 countries.

About the city

Abu Dhabi, in Arabic: أَبُو ظَبْيٍ‎ also called as Abū Ẓaby is the capital and the second-most populous city of the United Arab Emirates after Dubai. The city of Abu Dhabi is located on an island on the Central West Coast. Most of the city and the Emirate reside on the mainland connected to the rest of the country. As of 2020, Abu Dhabi’s urban area had an estimated population of 1.48 million, out of 2.9 million in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as of 2016.

Abu Dhabi houses local and federal government offices and is the home of the United Arab Emirates Government) and the Supreme Petroleum Council. The city is home to the President of the UAE, who is a member of the Al Nahyan family. Abu Dhabi’s rapid development and, coupled with the massive oil and gas reserves and production and relatively high average income, have transformed it into a large, developed metropolis. It is the country’s center of, and a major and commerce center. Abu Dhabi accounts for about two-thirds of the roughly $400 billion UAE economy.

Sunday, July 19th is selected as IFATC at home, Therefore I wanted to represent Abu Dhabi the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and give ATC coverage there, so people can see the beauty of Abu Dhabi. I wanted to show you all of the how beautiful landscape around Abu Dhabi



There will not be ATC the whole day, but most of the day. As being the only person to control the airport. I will try to be as much as possible, so people can experience the Emirati culture as much during the day (:
