IF48 Edition 1: Across The Pond

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Introducing the IF48: A Monthly 48hr Event Series :airplane:

Welcome to the very first edition of IF48, a new flagship official event that will take place on the last weekend of every month. Running for 48 hours from Saturday 0600Z to Monday 0600Z, IF48 is all about bringing the community together for a weekend of busy skies and ATC coverage. At its core, IF48 is about connecting the featured airports, centralising traffic and creating an exciting experience for everyone involved.

Key Points:

  • :date: Runs the last weekend of every month (Sat 0600Z – Mon 0600Z)
  • :airplane_departure: Featured airports with established routes to try out based on real-world ops
  • :globe_showing_europe_africa: 48hr duration makes it inclusive across all timezones
  • :bullseye: Predictable, large scale traffic and ATC coverage you can plan for every month
  • :satellite_antenna: ATC opportunities for controllers to collaborate and manage air traffic & frequencies
  • :wireless: ALL servers: Expert (main server), Training & Casual
  • :bar_chart: You decide the each IF48 edition through polls

We’re kicking off this new official event series with a classic set of routes and airports that were absolute no-brainers for us. Join us as we bridge the gap and fill the virtual skies across the pond for 48 hours straight. It’s time for a transatlantic event like no other, featuring four major airports on either side of the Atlantic. Let’s make Infinite Flight history by making this the busiest transatlantic event ever hosted! Fun fact: In a typical summer season, there are nearly 418,000 flights scheduled between the U.S. and Europe. That’s a pretty mind blowing figure!

NEXT EDITION POLL

Below are three options for the next edition of the IF48 series, and it’s time to cast your vote! You’ll be choosing the region, but here’s the twist: the exact airports will stay a surprise until the next edition is published. This poll will close when the event ends.

Cast your vote…
  • The Middle East
  • Southeast Asia
  • Southern Europe

additional notes
  • We encourage everyone to use the suggested aircraft & airlines listed above for each route.
  • As always, expert server pilots are required to comply with IFATC and to follow ALL expert server rules. Failure to comply with ES rules will result in violations being issued.
  • Delays are likely, especially during peak hours. Expert Server ATC might send arriving traffic into holding patterns to effectively manage high volumes of traffic.
  • Most importantly… Have a great time and share your screenshots with us on social media!

This is a great idea and for me it brings a lot of the magic from when we had Friday Night Flights (FNFs)!

I hoped EHAM would have been on here, would have been able to handle traffic far better than EGLL
