I see more and more grade 5 pilots not following the rules on the expert server.
I think that this level must to be given only to the pilots that are irreproachable in their behavior. I suggest that if an ATC is forced to remember twice to a grade 5 pilot to “follow the instructions” his grade is automatically changed in a lower grade.
Ghostings already affect your standing.
We can’t do everything to have 100% Experts pilots… try your best and report them
Yes, but the peoples that I see weren’t ghosted. They received only warnings to follow instructions that I can accept for pilots of grade 3 or 4 but not grade 5
Most of the grade 5 users are just people who leave their devices on all night…
Yes that’s the point how to discriminate players that wants a realistic game and the others. The first ones knows how interact with the ATC the others not
Hmm…that’s not always the case. I’m not that far off being grade 5 myself and I’d like to think that’s been (nearly) achieved by hard work, good landings and most of all following ATC instructions. I think I only have 9/10 violations, most because of speed, in the 203 flight hours that I have. Having said this, I agree there are some irresponsible grade 4/5 pilots out there unfortunately.
You can request this in the features category. :)
That’s really all you can do.
Ok it’s done :)
There’s two sides in ATC. A situation that I once had: Flying along in Australia and I had just crossed into the approach controllers airspace for Canberra. He asked my intentions, so I had to request approach. As many of you know the next step is to select which airport you want approach to, the list was not terribly long but not short either. This controller was patient and waited for me to respond. This is just an example, but I would have been rather upset if an overzealous controller (yes, they’re out there) had told me to follow instructions two times and suddenly I’m demoted. Granted, I don’t put too much weight into the grades. I’ve seen entry level pilots fly expertly and vice versa. That being said, even a grade 5 can get distracted or make a mistake. Focus on your own flying, and your own flying only. Let ATC take care of the rest, regardless of rank.
It saddens me how so many people are obsessed with higher grades. Surely better to spend valuable time learning how to fly properly than just leave your device running to hike up your XP.
I always send 2-3 “say intentions” before a “please follow instructions” in that case… If you can’t find it by then, just say “stand by” ;) :P
agree here. Send a Standby so controller knows you are into it. This is somethings that needs to be changed. Airport selected as end of flight plan should be the first one in the list of approaches, Chicago is imposible to find any.
Excellent idea. The menu is able to save the RWY info, and the positions in the pattern. The FPL destination should be set out at the top.
Think about it, they can’t leave it on all night, as they would reach the edge of the region, their thrust would cut and they’d crash.
Don’t insult them; they earnt their grade through hard work.
We can’t ghosted someone only because he is G5,I agree your point, lot of time I can’t believe what a see from G5 when I’m controlling, many of them have G5 because do tons of touch&go or put plane in AP flying all region in CASUAL SERVER, we have always to give "please follow instructions " before ghosting, we can ghost directly only in few cases. Anyway agree your point, is not easy even for us!
I don’t ask to ghost nor for punish people for not contacting center as quick as a lightning.
I saw G5 not following the right sequence or not enter in the pattern as instructed. In my opinion G5 means that you can interact with others in a correct way. For example maintaining the correct separation between you and the others and, most important, following instructions. If the ATC is forced to remember you to follow instructions when he is giving you pattern instructions there is a problem.
Grade 6 pass the exam
Before that. Before they had the cutoff everyone would leave their device on all night :(. People still do. get a Cessna and go like 40 knots in the Chicago region
