IF Suddenly shuts down

Is anyone experiencing IF suddenly shutting down when flying online? I am on iOS and it started happening after the latest update. Have to say it is quite frustrating when it happens on short final after a 6hr flight. Appreciate any help as it is happening every time I log on. Thanks!

It might be because your device is too hot. When I use IF for long without enabling low power mode, my iPad heats up and the screen becomes unresponsive for some time.

Some reasons to why IF is shutting down is graphic settings, airplane count, anti-aliasing and sometimes no storage.

Thanks for your feedback. Actually it has happened at different stages of flight and duration. From right after pushback to final on flights of varying lengths. It doesn’t freeze just completely shuts down and goes to the iPad home screen.

If it happens when there are a lot of inputs, its probably because its getting heated. When you cruise, im guessing the game is in low power mode, but during takeoff and landing, its not so that probably it.

The only suggestions I can make are performance related, lower your graphics settings, turn off anti-aliasing and lower your airplane count, I hope this can be of use!

Can you provide some additional information including:

• Device Model
• Operating System (example: Pad OS 14.8)
• Storage Available
• Battery Level (example: 50% or 100%) when this occurs and what is your Battery Health?
• Screen brightness
• Is the device heating up and then this occurs?
• Is there any improvements if you change Aircraft Count settings and/or Graphics Settings (High → Medium)?

Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for your assistance… below are my responses;
• Device Model
-iPad Ai2
• Operating System (example: Pad OS 14.8)

  • OS14.8
    • Storage Available
  • 82.3GB
    • Battery Level (example: 50% or 100%) when this occurs and what is your Battery Health?
  • It varies but <60%
    • Screen brightness
  • Medium
    • Is the device heating up and then this occurs?
  • Not that I have noticed
    • Is there any improvements if you change Aircraft Count settings and/or Graphics Settings (High → Medium)?
  • Will change the suggested settings

Since you have the iPad Air 2, I would lower the aircraft count to Low or None and I would also disable anti-aliasing as well as lowering the graphics settings. The Air 2 is starting to show its age in the tech world.

Thanks for your suggests… think I need a new iPad as the options you are suggesting would kill the whole IF experience.

iPad Air 2 is almost 6 years old, so lowering graphics would probably help

Thanks… will see if I can find a balance between lowering the graphics and maintaining the realism.
