IF speed restrictions

Once global comes out, will speed restrictions above 350KT be lifted? It will be annoying if you can only fly at 350KTs from LAX-SYD and will increase travel time greatly. Also could speed restrictions under 10000F be increased to 300KTs once global comes out?

Cheers

No. In real life planes don’t fly above 350knots airspeed. The ground speed, however is about 500 knots

250 kts below 10000 is a general rule for civil aviation. 350 kts (or m0,85 on cruising altitudes) is also close to speeds in real life… even a bit faster. So all this restrictions make sense. It would be less realistic without them. My opinion.

Oh ok wasn’t aware of these restrictions. Thanks!

Your getting confused between airspeed and ground speed. When you are seeing the high numbers which live flight and flight radar displays that is in groundspeed.

I wish I had a dollar for every time this had to be explained.

I watched videos on youtube from plane cabin, where pilots were instructed to fly 290 kts under 10k feet, I think it was on departure atc, so it gives me more sense when departing airspace, airspeed could be higher…

that’s fine cuz atc gave the pilot clearance to fly 250+ under fl 100
