IF Skyroute: A New Way to Explore 3D Airports in Infinite Flight

Hi everyone,

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a side project called IF Skyroute, and I’m finally ready to share it with the community!

What is IF Skyroute?

IF-Skyroute is an interactive, web-based map designed to help you explore every 3D airport currently available in Infinite Flight. Built with Mapbox integration, it provides a clean and fluid way to:

  • Browse airports by ICAO/IATA code or name.

  • Visualise global coverage to help plan your next flight.

  • Discover new destinations through a seamless, high-performance interface.

Current Features & Data

  • Massive Database: Includes 1,686+ 3D airports (current up to v25.1). Note: v26.1 airports will be added once the update is officially finalised.

  • Geographical Accuracy: For better organization, airports in Russia and Turkey are categorized as Europe or Asia based on their location relative to the Ural Mountains/Bosphorus.

  • Search Functionality: Quickly jump to any airport using the new search bar.

  • UI Improvements: The category legend is now retractable for a full-screen map experience.

  • Web App Support (PWA): You can install IF Skyroute directly to your device via Chrome or Safari for a native app experience—no browser bars required!

  • Push Notifications: Stay updated on new features and database expansions by enabling alerts. :bell:

What’s Coming Next?

I am actively working on new ways to enhance the tool, including:

  • 3D Terrain Map integration.

  • Distance & ETE Calculator.

  • Advanced filtering by region and continent.

Still grinding! :hammer_and_wrench: Life’s been a bit busy lately, but SkyRoute is getting closer to the finish line every day. Just working on some final ‘behind-the-scenes’ polishing before I’m ready to share it with all of you.
