IF paint shop

Hello IFC 👋
Im creating this in hopes that a moderator and/or staff could chime in and provide some insight as Im very curious about something - How are chrome liveries created by the artists? Is there special coding to achieve it, or something else? ie: American, Aeromexico

Cheers

Hmm… this is a good question. I’ll see this on watching because that is a fascinating question.

Ive wondered it for a long while, ever since I got into creating retro flyouts

I may or may not be incorrect with this information, but I paint liveries for other flight sims occasionally.

The materials and reflections like adding chrome or a matte paint job can be done with editing NML files (normals), which I presume is what Infinite Flight also uses. They’re essentially maps/files that store information and are painted separate from the livery, changing the surface of the aircraft’s material. My knowledge on the coding with how it works is pretty minimal, but I learned majority of my information from learning blender!
