IF is the best community!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to thank the ATC working EGLL today or at 10AM GMT & an Air Canada user (I was AeroMexico1111 super).

Was a bit of confusion on all ends, since I requested specific parking and was advised to do so at my discretion. Air Canada pushed back from Terminal 2 Gate 242 and I was heading for 241. ATC told Air Canada to give way, but I needed to give way since they were blocking my gate. We all realized, apologised and thanked eachother.

I know it might sound like nothing, but was such a warm and civilised interaction. As we know not everyone can be on their best behavior at all times but interactions like this is why I really love the IF flight community!

Thanks again to ATC and the Air Canada user who shall not be named. Happy flying everyone :)

Hello! I was the controller at EGLL when this happened.

EGLL is yet to implement drag & taxi so unfortunately I can’t say much else other than “taxi to parking, at your discretion”. Quite frankly, I had no idea where the gate you requested was, but obviously once I noticed the situation that was unfolding I assumed you must’ve been wanting to taxi to where the other aircraft was!
