Fair warning - this topic’s wording might be confusing, I’m terrible at writing these types of topics, but I thought this would be interesting to share, so bear with me
.
I’m back to share something pretty cool that has to do with IF
Recently, I have not been using Infinite Flight as much as I used to. I used to be doing 5-6 flights every week, but recently I went 3 whole months without doing a single flight. There’s many factors that contribute to this; starting a new school, getting new hobbies, etc. Recently, my family purchased a Cessna 150 (which some of you may already know), and I’m lucky to say that my dad is my flight instructor. We go up on weekends to train (but also explore) in our airplane, and that is partially a reason that I have not spent as much time on the simulator.
The reason I decided to create this topic is to explain how I used Infinite Flight to help me train with IFR flying. At the moment, our airplane is at KBLI getting new instruments to be IFR certified, which means I need to know the fundamentals of flying IFR. This is where Infinite Flight comes in, me and my dad have been using the Cessna 172 in Infinite Flight to practice IFR flights. Infinite Flight can connect directly to Foreflight, so we use our actual airplane iPad to connect directly to IF, and fly IFR flights like it’s the real world. Here’s a screenshot from Foreflight of a recent flight we did in IF.
We’ve been able to complete multiple IFR flights on Infinite Flight using the Cessna 172, which is definitely going to improve my real-world knowledge once we fly IFR in our 150. Thanks for reading!
