What do you guys think of the IF Discord Channel? Ive been there but the people there are quite weird. I mean its like its full of children, even some staff act like that.

If you do not like the behavior in the channel, you could mute the channel or leave it. Iā€™m sorry you arenā€™t happy with the current state.

actually, iā€™d say no. i think majority is 18+

Mods are never on. So called ā€˜specialistsā€™ are always on but they act like children. I havnt had any specific runins but i had to leave after just reading some messages from these guys.

Yes, people do often talk a little strange in there but I wouldnā€™t call it toxic

True, but i expected a little more proffesionalism. The way these guys were acting and talking was disapointing. I actually do flight simming and wanted to join in on the community but im just gonna stick here. People are much better here.

well clearly at least one dev is aware of this and iā€™d have to say that on the IFATC discord and PMā€™s with people from IFATC, i see a lot of arrogance and too many people being way too ā€˜upfrontā€™ in their speech and opinions.

Yeah there was some verbal abuse but i left. Most of it from ā€˜IFATC specialistsā€™

Thereā€™s basically always several mods on.
But the amount of messages sometimes makes it hard to follow every single thing going on. This is why we have the ticket system among other things there.

Discord is definitely meant for shorter messages and just chatting. I personally think itā€™s awesome that we can all interact and relate with each other on the Discord server.

Also saying the IF Discord is ā€œfull of childrenā€ would be proven wrong because both Discord and the IFC require people to be 13+.

In theory, that is true. But when talking about behaviour the physical age of a person isnā€™t a factor that should heavily be considered. In this case the maturity of a person plays a much bigger role.

And here is a shocker: not everyone in there is 13+. Currently we are relying on a honesty system without any verification. So you can never be sure that people are actually 13+. A simple ā€œI agree to the ToS and Privicy policyā€ is all Discord asks and almost no one actually reads the ToS.

Until people start shaming on each other. I joined today and there so much toxicity. Its like everyone was trying to show whos better than the other. I saw a guy complain about TS ATC and the IFATC and everyone else just shut him up like its nothing. Poor guy didnt do anything šŸ˜­. I also left because most of it was from ā€˜specialistsā€™. That Discord server feels like it was made for casual server players.

Just proves most of those people were children, all i wanted was to talk with people who took the game seriously.

In what sense? Currently you are making a lot of claims, but these claims are very interpreteable.

The IF Discord server actually is made for all Pro subscribers of IF.
