IF crashing on launch in bluestacks

I haven’t been able to play IF after the New Autopilot + update. Real quick, yes I know bluestacks isn’t formally supported by infinite flight.

I updated the app like always, but when launching the app in the emulator it’s loads for around 5 - 10 seconds then goes black for 5 seconds then crashes. I’ve tried maybe different methods of fixing this for over 2 hours, but no luck.

Does anyone know how to fix this, and if there is different free emulator that supports IF currently you suggest?

Welcome to the Community!

Infinite Flight does not officially support any emulators - you use them at your own risk. If you run into issues (which is very likely - particularly after an update), there’s not much that can be done.

Unfortunately after 25.1 it has broken on any emulator, we know that Infinite Flight has its focus on mobile devices, but sometimes developers do not think beyond their community or some people who do not have enough to acquire a good device that can run the simulator well, as well as have the experience of enjoying it with a joystick.

Hey there!
I understand you well, it happened to me too, sometimes it is better to enter and simulate only using the jigs of the mobile phone or device in use! If you need more explanation please answer!

They are developing a mobile sim - that’s their focus. There are plenty of PC sims out there.

I can say as a software developer, and having done a small amount of Android work, that there is a LOT of work involved, even just in supporting the INCREDIBLY WIDE range of existing Android devices.

Expecting developers to support the near infinite possibilities of emulated environments as well is not realistic. A policy of not supporting anything except Android devices keeps the needed support effort within manageable bounds.

@Pilotluxz what version of Bluestacks are you using? And what ABI is your Bluestack instance running?
Post a screenshot of your bluestacks Settings->Advanced and Settings->About pages if you can

I’m not the person you tagged, but can I show you my BlueStacks version and the ABI? I also have the same problem. Perhaps this can help

Mine is:
Version 5.22.70.1039 Android 11
ABI x86 32-bit, x86 64-bit, ARM 32-bit, ARM 64-bit
ADB is enabled, btw

I use bluestacks 5 with the latest update.

There seem to be an issue with our released version w/ bluestack; our development version works for me here.
I’ll try to investigate a bit more but since it is not a supported use case, i can’t guaranty a quick fix.
