Icelandair increases frequency and fleet size

Icelandair has planned a frequency increase for multiple European and North American routes. Milan Malpensa, Helsinki, Billund, Hamburg, Stockholm Arlanda, Edmonton, Denver, Portland and Washington Dulles are just a few of the destinations where frequency is increased.

As well as this frequency change Icelandair has also ordered two new more 767 to add to the already two 767s in the fleet. This frees up 757s which will be puton two new routes:

  • Reykjavik - Philadelphia
  • Reykjavik - Tampa

The 30th June 2017 states the mark for these new routes.

Boeing 767s?Used right?

Not stated.

Nu meddelar flygbolaget att de ska tillföra ytterligare två B767-300 med 262 stolar ombord och därmed öka kapaciteten med ytterligare 13 procent vad gäller antalet stolar och 8 procent i antalet flygningar.

Translated to English:

The airline is now announcing that they will be adding two additional 767-300s with 262 seats and therefore increase the capacity with an additional 13 percent in seat capacity as well as 8 percent in the amount of flights.

Most likely seeing as the B767 is no longer in production

yeah this very is good news for icelandair and everyone in iceland
@Noroftheair hope to see more special liveries like the hekia aurora one!!

My favorite airline because they have a big 757 fleet. And new routes are cool though.

Doesn’t Delta have one of the largest, too?

Adding on 737 MAX as well.

Delta’s 757 & 767 fleets are fairly substantial.
