Exactly what I thought would happen, happened to me. While on training server in Heathrow I got handed over to departures and while trying to fly the plane and get on track of my SID Im looking at all these button options that are the first time I have ever seen them so there is no muscle memory and I pressed the wrong request. Then it fell apart from there.

Take a look at the ATC Communication section of the User Guide:
Each page has tables at the bottom explaining each command.
Just to note when contacting departures all you need is to check in and you can carry on with the flight and if there are conflicts arising atc might vector you and same you can also request your flight level if you intend to fly at different alt than you have on your flight plan.

Yeah thats what I expected but departure asked my intentions and I had a filed plan so I was looking for how would I say my SID departure and I fat fingered something. There was a new page of bottons I was frantically reading.

Yeah some of the button mapping is shown there but there is a lot more. Maybe I need to quickly screen shot them and make a tree mapping as a quick study guide.
Training atc often tends to be filled with newbies so you shouldn’t worry with their nonsense.
