After about 2 months of pro subscription I have finally reached the expert sever, however I don’t feel confident enough to join all the experienced pilots just yet, but if any of you have tips for me I would highly appreciate

I think for a new ‘entrant’ to Grade 3 and the expert server in heavily controlled areas, you should get acquainted and familiarize yourself with all the communication “buttons” we have at 1) ground 2) tower 3) dep 4) arrival 5) center. Also familiarize what to expect from ATC at each stages from prior to and after takeoff/landing.
When I started off I had a hard time finding which button and sub-button when in a rush, or when ATC instructions came at a rapid pace. I also didn’t know what specific instructions meant, such as a “hold over …, left turns”, for example.
When I got a Level 3 violation for being ignorant and was relegated for a week, I took that time to learn each communication icon and how that corresponds to ATC instructions.
Since we always have different scenarios where tower may be active with no active approach or center, or we may have active approach but no tower, there are nuances in the way you would communicate with ATC. Takes a while, and I’d say learn by doing.
Last but not least the IFATCs don’t bite! If they issue you a violation in the future, feel free to DM them directly and inquire the reasoning behind. Tbh I also learn a lot this way. Enjoy!
