G’day all, I was just wondering if I make an event but I’m not in a VA could I get a sponsor/partnership for the event with a VA.

Not sure if this is the right category, if not feel free to move it.

Yes. You don’t have to be part of a VA to create an event and ask for a sponsorship from a VA on Infinite Flight.

Yes, you can get sponsored by a VA if you’re not in it

Yes, if you have a VA in mind, I would set up a draft or outline of the event and send it to the VA to see if they’re interested.

Event manager (upon other things) from DLVA here - yes, you sure can! I personally love recognizing well-created events for our pilots to enjoy and to recognize that someone has created a great event.

But for the love of all things that are good in this world…

Please stop using the word sponsored.

Unless there is a monetary exchange happening, sponsored simply isn’t an appropriate word to use. I know that many events have used this, and I’ve seen a shift away. However, I still see it time and time again.

Personally, I like to use the phrase “Partnered with.” It sounds pretty clean, and indicates the correct thing.

Of course, no one has to stop using “Sponsored by,” just thought that I’d take the time to answer your question and give a PSA.

Thanks for everyone’s help, I will PM the VA with the event and see if they are interested in partnering with me, you may see the event in a few months when the A350 is released.
