I got 64% in the damn written test 2 times š i have 2k operations which is pretty newibie i supposed even in ts , what am i supposed to do ? :/
Keep going. Study as hard as you can. Read the manual back to front. You can pass this thing! It was so hard for me: after a while, itāll be like the back of your hard.
Just like @Delta174J said, make sure to study that manual! The ATC Manual gives you everything you need to know, and more! I also strongly suggest you watch all of Infinite Flightās ATC Tutorial Episodes, found here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPK_42U0EhIfsC6cU503Zwda4ZcurnPSt&si=UcpMBb3I1np79ng8. Finally, I recommend taking the IFATC practice test, which have similar questions to the real written test, which will help you strengthen your knowledge. Link: Create online tests. If you need any other help, feel free to PM me, and I can help answer some questions if you need my support! Good luck!
Do the practice tests.
Hey there i am going to tell you something my grandpa use to tell me if they can do it you can do it we all have 2 arms and and feet and a brain so donāt give up just work harder you have to fail to learn.
Another thing you can try is applying the theory to your ATC sessions.
Letās say youāve just learned about the need for the Pattern Entry, Sequence, Clearance routine. In your next ATC session, make sure you give aircraft a pattern entry when they are inbound or change runways, sequence them correctly and finally give them a landing/option clearance. This puts what you learn into practice and build some good habits before you get to your actual training sessions, which you can wizz through since you got the basics nailed down already.
The work you put in now will pay off in the future.
Thereās a good reason why it is hard to pass: itās the access to controlling the Expert Server
Donāt give up. What are the areas youāre struggling with? Assuming you have a recruiter, have you asked them for help or clarification on anything? They are more than willing to help.
You have to achieve failure and you have to be willing to fail in order to succeed. Once you achieve failure from then on you go on to win. That goes for anything in life as well for any scenario (I use this for working out). I am currently struggling in physics (like anyone at my age) because I donāt get it and we donāt do anything different just equations all lesson. I am trying to get good at it. Everyone else seems to be good at things that I like but that doesnāt mean I give up on it. If you are hungry for it then you wonāt think like this. Just keep achieving failure first. Itās uncomfortable and itās hell but you will get there and if you do you will feel like you have achieved something that you wanted to do and you put yourself into to do. Good luck and best wishes. Hope to see you as IFATC one day controlling airspaceās Iām flying in.
āIf you want to change the world, donāt back down from the sharks.ā - Admiral William H. McRaven
Have you ever heard Third times the charm I was in the process but then stopped because I had to many violations I even deleted my old account and got a new one Iām looking forward to building my stats back up and trying again become Ifatc just keep trying like dory said just keep swimming
I had such a hard time: I didnāt even know what a sequence was! A few months later, I am a controller on Expert Server and I have learned so much along the way. I promise you, it will be so much fun! Keep going, we all will be here if you need anything!
Itās not easy but you got it !
Take your time and get to know everything. Be confident in yourself too. Confidence will help you out.
Itās not gonna be easy but youāll find your way through it. Just believe in yourself.
Good luck :)
So true. Everything attained easily you will one day mostly forget. Everything you struggled with and overcame you will look back at with the fondest of memories.
One of the biggest paradoxes of life.
Good luck to your efforts!
This topic became just a big motivational thread in the forum. We can use this for workouts it seems that we all think the same š. By the way I got that quote from Tom Platz who has the most brutal leg workouts Iāve ever seen.
If itās something you really want to do, donāt give up and continue to study / work on improving!
I failed the written test twice before barely passing a third time. Failed the practical twice before passing the third time.
5+ years later, and its one of the best journies and groups to be a part of.
Never give up. Some of the greatest things in life never come easy and you have to work hard for them.
Joining IFATC nearly 7 years ago now is one of the best decisions Iāve made throughout my time as an Infinite Flight user. IFATC is full of fantastic people from all walks of life and youāll make plenty of friends and learn a lot along the way. Additionally, if you work hard, there is plenty of room for progression throughout the team as well!
I would like to share that when I started my career as an IFATC recruiter, one of my recruits failed the written 3 times. He knew he would have to wait a while before trying again, but he went back and re-took the test and passed. He dedicated himself and today he has a role that helps members of the community who receive violations.
Recently, I had another recruit who finally passed the written after about 2 years of trying the test while taking time away from his real life routine. Today he is an IFATC member and controls the Tower and Ground frequencies very well.
Iām proud of these guys. They are like an inspiration to me. They worked hard and managed to achieve their goal.
If control is for you, keep trying. We want you on the team. I always encourage anyone who wants to be an IFATC to practice controlling. Somehow this helps to visualize situations that you face in a written test.
Please donāt give up! Look at me, I failed the test numerous times, and had to wait months, but I persevered and got in. Just keep trying, and studying, and youāll get in eventually!
Nothing is said to be easy, but I feel that if you dared to click on the applying form and fill it, I believed, you wanted to be part of the team. And I can tell, you I have faced the same situation, after I failed it once, I had received a cooldown period, where I had to try again to better my knowledge. Therefore, every morning I used to try the mock several times before, trying to make perfect ones. I can rememeber after the cooldown period came, I didnāt took it back immediately. I first, tried to have some 100% in rows before getting confident, asking my recruiter about questions I did not understand.
I can also say that, this got my training time really easy and fast.
The only thing I can tell you is, Iām wainting you there, so that weāll get to control some airports together. Do not feel ashamed or disapointed, you are doing really good so far. This is what will make you one of the best controllers within IFATC. Keep going mate, and youāll succeed it soon in no time.
