Yes, the title is clickbait how do you like it @anon93248082
Hey IFC,
I don’t know if any of you guys have used MyFlightradar24, but it allows for you to keep a good log of your flights. I started logging some of mine, and it shows some cool stats. For example, I apparently have contributed some 18.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
If you guys want to use this website: https://my.flightradar24.com and create an account. You can post some of your screenshots of your stats here if you like.
Using the same metric with my current flying hours (19,500) gives me 812.5 days airborne at a tonnage rate of 1.85 tonnes per day giving 1503 tonnes of CO2 over my career!
Admittedly some of the smaller faster stuff was probably a bit more inefficient than a high bypass gas turbine, especially with burners plugged in!!! :D :D :D
No wonder the Plane Stupid campaigners don’t like me!!!
Edited to add that real rotary pilots operate to ships in terrible weather, high sea states and at night. Until you’ve done that you can’t call yourself a ‘real’ chopper pilot!!!
