I caused global warming!?

Yes, the title is clickbait how do you like it @anon93248082
Hey IFC,
I don’t know if any of you guys have used MyFlightradar24, but it allows for you to keep a good log of your flights. I started logging some of mine, and it shows some cool stats. For example, I apparently have contributed some 18.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

If you guys want to use this website: https://my.flightradar24.com and create an account. You can post some of your screenshots of your stats here if you like.

Now, is that with all your flights, and the total for the flight, or is that your 100th of the flight?

That is just the amount of flights I have logged. I probably have more than 120 total, but I cannot remember any details from some.

How does MyFR24 calculate this though?

The release of CO2 are based on many different factors…

Well I mean if one flight you took had 100 people on it, and gave out, Idk, let’s do 1 ton to make math easy, would it give you 1, or 1/100…

IK, it is just more of an estimate than an actual number…

Tsk tsk does this look like math class to you?

I mean, no, I’m just curious, because if it gave you one in that situation, I feel like it is over doing your contribution…

Wow! Some interesting stuff. Just saying, my geography teacher would probably rip your head off! :)

Using the same metric with my current flying hours (19,500) gives me 812.5 days airborne at a tonnage rate of 1.85 tonnes per day giving 1503 tonnes of CO2 over my career!

Admittedly some of the smaller faster stuff was probably a bit more inefficient than a high bypass gas turbine, especially with burners plugged in!!! :D :D :D

No wonder the Plane Stupid campaigners don’t like me!!!

Or it’s cause you fly airplanes? Lol

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. ;D

Edited to add that real rotary pilots operate to ships in terrible weather, high sea states and at night. Until you’ve done that you can’t call yourself a ‘real’ chopper pilot!!!

;D ;D ;D :O rofl!

That’s actually pretty cool… might try it out the logbook thing not the CO2 LOL

Thats cool! Didn’t know it existed actually. I’ve spent the past 45 minutes logging in all my flights since 2014. Scary stuff!
