I am now a private pilot

8 years ago when I joined IFC, I would’ve never imagined where it would’ve taken me. Today, I just got my private pilots license! It’s been a grind, but I’ve had fun and cannot wait to keep growing! Thank you Infinite Flight and all of the community members for your help and support!

Thank you everyone, I truly appreciate it! For anyone who is currently going into flight training, I will say there are a lot of ups and downs but it pays off in the end.

LFG! Congrats! You just accomplished something that 99.9% of the rest of the world’s population never will. It’s pretty wild when you think about it in that context. You should be really proud. Highly recommend pursuing your instrument rating in the future as it gives you extra layers of safety and more flexibility!

Huge congratulations!! :tada: This is a massive accomplishment and you’ve just passed a major milestone with hopefully more to come! I remember when I got mine, what an amazing feeling. I agree with @N1451U, getting your instrument is really worth it and that would naturally be your next step if you were considering going forwards with your training. It’s a little tricky but also a lot of fun! When I teach it, I like to think of it as “putting on the big pants” since you’re going to be exposed to major airspaces, instrument approaches and so on, “pro-flying.”

Good luck going forward! It’s really fun out there!

I do plan to start instrument training within the next few months, which I am excited for. Funny enough on our flight back from the checkride we did a practice ILS approach and had an IFR flight plan that we never picked up.

Yeah, I really enjoyed my IFR training, and I’ve always enjoyed teaching it the most. At first, you’re completely lost and behind. But once it clicks it’s so much fun. Also enjoyable to take a break from those maneuvers.

Love this! IF isn’t a bad way to get your feet wet. Obviously, it’s extremely simplified, but you can use it to get familiar with reading plates and understanding how approaches work generally.

It was rough for sure when I started. Once I started to understanding holds I was golden

That’s amazing, @Pilot_InfiniteFlight ! Major congrats to that.

I thought getting the a321 engines turned on was hard…

Still I’ve been playing flight sims since I was 8 but racing since I was 3 I’m not joking I want to drive a gt3 or gt4 car one day
