Another Question, sorry if it was already posted: If IF is running actively and I switch to another App (iPad for me) it can happen, that IF is at one point “quited” in the background. I don’t understand when this happens, cause sometimes I can switch between like 20 Apps and IF is still running, and the other day it closes right after one switch. Does AP+ continue the flight in this case, if I don’t leave the flight with the “Main Menu” button if all points for AP+ are checked at this moment?
The app does not need to be open at all for AP+ to run. Your device can even be switched off completely.
I know, but sometimes I need to switch between the apps quickly and I wanna know, if AP+ continues the flight if the App gets closed unintended by system during the App is just in the background and the flight is not set to AP+ by pushing the “main menu” button. YKWIM?
If you aren’t in AP+ mode then it works as before, you run the risk of the app disconnecting/closing if you leave the app.
I would suggest if you want to leave the app you put it temporarily into AP+ mode, then you can go back into it when back inside the app.
The app does not put the flight automatically into AP+ mode if you leave the app. You have to turn it on.
Alright, that gives the answer I wanted. But, tbh, it would be pretty nice if the server would continue it if all points are checked. Maybe in a later update. Thanks, @BennyBoy_Alpha
I notice that the time doesn’t change as the flight progresses, is that how it is supposed to be or is that a fault?
Does anyone return just to step climb or just me
Does an AP+ flight that’s reached it’s 48 hour hold point no longer show up as In Background?
I wanted to spawn a second flight briefly to find ‘myself’ and recheck the remaining waypoints, without continuing the flight right now … But spawning at the nearest airfield and looking around where I -know- I saw my pending flight … I don’t see it at all.
If your flight has hit the 30 minutes from destination mark, it no longer shows up in app or on trackers
Incredible feature and absolute game changer. The engagement increase that can already be seen has changed the experience that can be had while flying. I think that this is one of the most significantly positive features IF has added. Great job IF Team!
Does AP+ save your XP points when activated? Meaning that youll get the same xp points as leaving the flight active on your device?
Yes
There is a bug currently that might inflate your xp and hours, but you definitely won’t get less xp than normal
Also can’t you just farm xp and flight time by creating multiple AP+ sessions?
If you check out the blog article, you’ll see that you can only have one flight using AP+ at a time and then at most one other flight
This would be one of my favorite features since I got to know this game! It’s revolutionary for long-range flight experience!
But I think only keeping the flight for 48 hrs is a little bit short. Also some times these days I do hope to fly two long range flights simultaneously. Why not consider increasing the num of background flights?
This may be by far the very best modification to this simulator ever made! This right here helps more than you guys know, and i do believe you know! Thank you to all who put dedicated time into this! I think i may speak for all of us on this one, we appreciate you!
(spawn a tanker on another device!!!)
Now all we need is to make it wife proof so that I don’t get asked to go do something when I’m on short final lol.
impossible… your mother has her back i promise!
Does the amount of XP you get in AP+ change than if you let it run in the foreground?
