You read it. How do you actually do it?

Even when it’s night it isn’t on

It’s automatic, when it goes dark outside it goes light inside. (When the plane is on off course)

Make sure aircraft is on and is at Night

In the time menu, if you change the time from day to night, the lights won’t be visible until you exit out of the menu (unsure if this is by design). So try changing the time to night, exit out of the time menu, and then do what the others said above—turn on the aircraft (auto start or battery + apu/engines).

Your electricals/master battery and APU have to be running, for the lights to work.
