Ok, I might be the biggest noob in the world but how do start four engined airplanes? Is it like 1,2,3,4 or something else. Replies are much appreciated. Thanks!
I start the outboard engines first (the ones facing away from the gate you pushed back from). You turn on 3 and 4 at the same time, then 1 and 2.
The order for a standard 4 engine startup (depending on company standard procedures) is 3, 4, 2, then 1. It means you start both engines on one side before moving on to the other, in-board then outboard.
The reason is because when you have one side running or still starting, you will have a “green zone” or safe side that passengers and crews can escape to.
i usually do 4,1,3,2
3 4 1 2
So, two at a time?
One at a time, just like two-engined aircraft.
Oh ok. So it’ll take longer to start then a two engined aircraft.
Just a tad longer. But you should be on your way in no time.
Happy flying :)
E series it engine 1 first…
CRJ its number 2
C130 is 3421

Oh, it was just how to start 4 engined planes.
