We love seeing the events our community creates. In fact, for the past few years we’ve made it a goal to feature a selection of community events every month, showcasing the incredible creativity, dedication, and sense of community that make Infinite Flight so special.
Our community truly is the heartbeat of Infinite Flight, and we’re excited to continue highlighting the amazing events you bring to life. So, if you’re wondering how to give your event the best chance of being featured, here’s everything you need to know.
Do’s & Don’ts
Follow the Multiplayer > Events category rules closely- Follow the ATC schedule when hosting Expert Server events. This is pinned globally and to the top of the ATC category
- Event must feature 3D airports and should utilize large airports suitable for handling high arrival and departure volume
- Be reliable! Follow through with your event so we know we can count on you for more
- Get creative. Make your event threads presentable and eye catching by using graphics and good formatting
- Try your best to host events within the daily 0600Z to 0600Z timings, especially when working with the ATC schedule
- Try your best to avoid overlaps with other community-made events. We understand that this can be tricky, but events stand a higher chance if they’re not put up against a bunch of other great events. It makes it harder for us to choose as we can only feature one per day!
- Community Events must be hosted on the Expert Server to be considered for a feature on the ATC Schedule. Events hosted on other servers may be selected for more spontaneous flash events or day-of features!
Do not host events longer than 24hrs in duration. Any 24hr events must be hosted from 0600Z to 0600Z- Do not use gate assignments or any other means of excluding participants
- Do not use any kind of signup method (event should be open to all)
- Do not create event threads that mostly consist of wikipedia links with little to no creativity or custom formatting
- Do not host your event during the last weekend of the month if you want to try get your event featured. The last full weekend of every month is reserved for the IF48 event series.
Selection Process
As much as we’d love to feature every event, it simply isn’t possible. We’ll always do our best to showcase as many events as we can. Following the guidance above will significantly improve your chances of having your event featured, but please keep in mind that it doesn’t guarantee your event will be selected. Here’s how the selection process works:
- We manually select our favourite events at the end of each month
- Our deadline when selecting events for the following month is the 26th. Events selected before the deadline will help shape next ATC schedule
- We will continue to look for events to feature, even last minute. If you didn’t create an event in time for the deadline, don’t worry. Instead, wait for the next ATC schedule to be published and base your event around the featured airports on the schedule
- If your event is selected to be featured, you’ll receive a DM from a member of staff
Direct requests via DM for events to be featured will not be accepted
