My friend and I want to create a virtual airline, but it’s our first time to do it. I hope there is a master to answer it. Thank you for your help.
Hello, first of all, choose an airline that is not taken from the IFVARB database. Gather your team (it would be better to have you and someone else with you at the beginning). Create your website, and send your application to IFVARB. If you have any other questions, I can answer them. You can also find out how the process works and answers to some questions here. IFVARB
Is so good I can help you
Ok thank you
Hey there @Terry.Oster!! I can see you’ve recently joined the community, so first, welcome, and second, I’d like to offer a little advice. You are welcome to take it or leave it, but I think it’s worth hearing before trying to start your own VA.
Starting a VA is a difficult and sometimes strenuous process. You have to be able to make a website, plan routes, start a discord server, come up with a name and mission, etc. This is just to get started on the approval process. Then there’s the actual running of the VA. Lot of responsibility goes into the running of a VA and the CEOs of the more successful VA’s in Infinite Flight can tell you just how much work it takes to keep members satisfied and the VA’s lively and attractive to other users. I have only been in the community a little over two years, but even in my short time here I have already seen several VA start up and start to dwindle and even fail do not to the lack of spirit and energy from the CEOs, but rather the lack of experience and discipline which it takes to run a VA. Remember that by running a VA, not only are its current members counting on you to supply them with a routes, activities, and events, but you are also in charge of making sure that the VA is attractive to other users in IF such that your VA can grow successfully. At the end of the day, it’s always your choice to start a VA. But keep in mind that experience is needed, dedication and discipline are a must, and an overall grasp of the vibe of the IF community is crucial to starting and maintaining a successful VA.
My honest advice to you is to spend at least a year in a well functioning VA, perhaps even working up to a leadership position in that VA, in order to get experience and knowledge on how a VA works internally. It looks great on paper but actually doing it is 99% of the process.
But, should you choose to go forward and start your own VA, I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully you can find users with experience who are willing to help and advise you.
That’s a good point. While there are definitely website companies and other resources that are affordable and may even be free, I believe it still costs to start a VA.
Thank you very much have a good day
