You don’t necessarily have to choose a white frequency, just a different one. The last step is wrong. You shouldn’t send messages as you choose, only if necessary. As it’s unlikely you’ll be landing at the Unicom airport you chose, just stay silent.

Don’t go to another active frequency until it’s necessary or said by the controller, there are chances of controller to ask intentions and as said just wanted to make it as detailed as possible :)

You don’t send messages to that frequency Ayush. That’d confuse any pilots on that frequency.

Yeah it is. I was just controlling EGKK on advanced and between people not changing frequencies and people not knowing what remaining in the pattern means, I was pretty annoyed XD. I had to tell several people to check the good old help pages…

Does chosing the white frequencies tune me directly to the white frequencies? There have been cases im still seeing the previous maned frequencies until i sent a message to a random unicom.

Or does it actually show up on the atc as a different frequency but i still can see their conversation?

I honestly don’t understand why everyone gripes about this just click on the plane when they ask for things it really doesn’t bother me if they don’t change as long as I’ve given them the frequency change I’m no longer obligated to them.

The last step is not required but really helps the controller out. When I use to control on my iPhone I had to scroll through the flight strips a lot to find aircraft (which the majority were no longer in my airspace). It helps de clutter our flight strips so that we can find aircraft who need clearances faster.

People who have larger devices generally don’t have this problem.

Another thing, when you’re on the ground and get a “taxi to runway XX, contact tower when ready” understand what you’re actually getting a clearance to. I understand the phrase is mildly misleading, but it means “Taxi to runway XX, contact tower when ready for departure” ;)

I ask an information, i just take off from WMKM the atc ask me to change frequency but no other atc frequency were available, in this case ?
