How to become an airport editor?

Hi pilots, I’d like to be an airport editor. Does anyone know how I can do that? There was an option a while back, but it never came back.
I’d like to be one because I think this is how the process for adding 3D airports to the simulator works, and I’ve been waiting for a long time for 3D airports in Ecuador.

You’ll have to wait until the airport editing application form goes back online, when I don´t know, but staff has mentioned they want to reopen it in the near future.

You’d best bet I’m signing up when it does

So there’s no way to get or request 3D airports anywhere in the world? Or how does it work?

The general consensus is that the airport editing team do not take requests - however there are a few that do (I don’t know exactly who they are though).

Editors tend to work on airports they want, and since most are from the US and Europe, most 3D airports are located there, and they don´t take requests as Benny mentioned immediately above me. Once the application form is reopened, you can apply there and, if successful, you´ll be able to edit Ecuadorian airports to your heart’s content.

Okay, then I’ll have to keep an eye out for when I can apply to edit or join the team of editors.

In conclusion, there is no other way than just waiting…

No there isn’t. Either:

  • wait for applications to reopen so you can then apply
  • wait for someone else to make the airport in the meantime

When there are so many people willing to work, including me, why do airport editors keep accepting new applications so late? I’ve seen so many people wanting to be here so far. I hope the managers will take this into consideration and open it.

It’s true, we could contribute more to the simulator together with those who are already inside.
