How often do you use Autoland?

Hey all,
I am curious to see how often everyone uses the Autoland feature in IF. I personally almost never use it (i prefer to hand fly the plane) unless I am faced with a Cat 3 approach (very low visibility for anyone who diesn’t know).

Anyways:

  • I use it for every approach I fly
  • I sometimes use it when conditions call for it
  • I’m to badass for the Autoland feature ;)

Happy landings to you all :)

I am too good for Autoland, Autoland uses me.

I’ve never used Autoland in IF Live, although I often use the APPR to line up with the runway.

I only ever used it once.

i never do that. Takes the fun out of manually lining up with the runway ;)

I use it all the time. Except for planes without it, or if I want landing practice. ;-)

I prefer land manually unless I’m busy and I’m in the middle of a flight or the visibility is bad

The only time I used the APPR I ended up landing with my gear up. Luckily it was on Solo.

Couldn’t have said it better myself

I tried autoland once in live I was curious how it was (advanced) and when I touched down it dug my noise gear into the ground and I had to quit… Never again

I’ve used it a few times after it was released. Once I got the hang of it, I never used it again. Usually don’t fly the aircraft with APPR anyway.

I use AP to get aligned then I turn it off

I used it once just to test it. It takes of all the fun!

Anyway I prefer smaller planes like the dash, the Cessna citation x, and the cirrus, that can land on smaller tracks.

I used it once to see how it worked and how good the landing was. It touched down at a VS of -200 ft/min.

I took it as a challenge and try to beat the autoland in manual mode. My personal best is a touchdown at VS -35 ft/min and still in the landing zone!

In all fairness, Autoland beats me plenty of times too.

I use it to capture the loc and glide slope. Once Im fully configured I go manual. I’ll admit it is nice to do a full auto land every now and again

Sorry, in Portugal we say “pista”, that’s also track 😊

I tried using it but I failed and caused me to go and do a missed approach (a video I posted a while back shows why). And I can only get it to work if I do the landing option on solo so never used it for longer flights.
