How low should I be on approach?

As long as you get to 3500ft AAL by the time you get to the ILS cone range then you’ll be fine.

I’m no expert, but I’d recommend being at 0FT AGL when your at 0NM from your destination

Actually though, I’m usually 11,000 FT at 50NM
3,500 at 25 NM
1,300 at 5 NM

You can also use the two lights to the left or right of the landing zone. Two red means too low one red one white means just right, and too white means too high. Although I may be color blind and I kind of have trouble telling the two colors apart, when it says I’m too low and I see white I’m too high so I defend faster but realize I was misreading the colors. A, don’t do that, B enter the glide scope at 3500 AGL and you should be fine.

Yea that’s to low you should of be 3,000 when on the glide slope I will be typically 10,000 or 8,000 feet what I do is start descending at 160NM away from the airport at -1500 VS and u should be perfect

@NoahM At 50 nm you should be about 18,000

Hmmm
Then what should I descend at from 50 NM to get to 3,500 ft when joining the localizer?

I usually start descending at 200nm out, with a V/S of 1,200. I usually decent to 20,000ft-15,000ft. Once I get to 100nm-90nm. I start descending to 3,000ft

The thing is…it depends on winds, speed, etc…

At 50nm you should be around 15000-18000ft AGL
