If you have flown Allegiant airlines, please tell me what you experienced on the flight, and what you expected from a Low-Cost carrier :). I have NEVER flown low cost before (not even southwest). So what is it like to fly low cost?
P.S I am not flying anywhere.
I haven’t been on an Allegiant before, but I have been on a low carrier airline before. JetBlue is amazing, and has amazing legroom!
I heard that JetBlue has great service.
I haven’t been on them either. But all lost cost carriers are great especially in Europe as they still have to adhere to rules and regulations. Also legroom is what you get on mainline carries if not better. I’ve been on a lost cost and it was comfier than the same flight in business. Around 2 hiurs
JetBlue is lcc and it’s great. However, lccs as a whole tend to be less nice.
I’d take Easyjet over BA short haul any day, especially now that BA have their new speciality back ache “slimline” seats on the A319/320/321.
I think I heard that Ryanair fly’s without wheels…
Lower ticket price but you need to pay for every little other thing. Carry on? Pay a fee. Drink? Lol no.
Its the samething as Spirit. Pay for carry on, luggage, seats, food, check-in.
I flew with Southwest several times, very good service.
I’ve never flown with Allegiant but I did fly with JetBlue once from BOS-MCO. Like others said, it had great service and lots of legroom.
Where are you flying to and what plane are you flying on?
I’m not flying anywhere
my friend flew on allegiant and she said she hated it.
I recently came back off of holiday, flew with Ryan Air, I must say I was sceptical at first, but it was the comfiest, and best flights I have ever been on
It’s a little rough. No free snacks or drinks onboard, and usually there are some delays involved. But you get where you need to go. I’m flying with them next year. They have some older Md-80s in their fleet, which most people despise. It happens that the Md-80 is my favorite plane, so that’s a plus for me. :)
I believe a lot of the low cost airlines are fully or partially owned by the larger ones. I know that new hire pilots will often start working for these airlines while they build seniority to upgrade. Allegiant isn’t operating 747’s or anything of that scale, so the hardware and runway fees are cheaper. New pilots also make significantly less money than the pilots with the majors, so there’s money saving there also. Overall from what I’ve heard from people the travel experiences are good.
My sister flew it and was scared to death with them. After hearing her story I wouldn’t fly them even if the they paid me to fly with them.
I flew BLI-PHX last week on the new A319 fleet of theirs. about the same as Easyjet to be honest.at least on that aircraft.
Southwest is amazing. I fly 2-3 times a year for work plus any vacations. Have amassed miles with southwest. Amazing customer service. Any problem I’ve had has been fixed with a smile, rebooking cancelled flights has gone well. Free bags as well!! You can get free tv on your phone during the flight along with on demand type library. Texting is like $1 or $2 and wifi is like $4 or something. I occasionally get the texting or wifi. Depends on the length and time of the flight. If southwest flies to where I’m going they are my number 1 choice by far. Have heard bad things about allegiant as far as safety of the aircraft. They have a high % of diverted flights due to some type of issues.
