How does xp work

well i don’t quite understand how the xp system work? Do you get more xp for flying events? plus i flew a long haul flight From EHAM-VTBS which was 10 hours
but when i flew to sydney from lax which was 13 hours i got 8000xp soooo how does that work?

I read it but it doesn’t make sense how did the 13 hour flight give me 8000xp when the 10 hour 12 minute flight i took this morning give me 12000

There is a known bug with the XP atm - for a 10h12m flight you should’ve received around 6000-6500XP.

and i read another topic about it but does landing and wind and landing smoothness equate to the xp?
