I kinda know ‘how to join’ … like you look up for one and just PM them and saying Hi want to join… and they are like: yeah sure u can join, just join our Discord to get started…. I don’t have Discord (nor would my mom let me have it, idk why) so I’m not sure what to do or how to apply for a group without Discord… I don’t think it’s possible- but idk~ Thanks

In the official VA thread they will have an application link. Without discord, you won’t be able to join any VA’s. I know, cause I Don’t use discord either, and I’ve been rejected a couple times.

If you aren’t able to get discord then I suspect you wouldn’t be able to get into many VAs. The vast majority of them require it.

Hmm… the vast majority… meaning there’s a few that don’t require it…?
I believe there are a few that use other communication platforms (e.g. Slack) - I don’t know which ones though off the top of my head,

I’m about to spend a good 3 hours just to get rejected again 
I’d recommend checking IFVARB, I think it says if it requires discord or smth
“The IFVARB does not have an official stance on the type of communications platform virtual airlines must use. We do recommend Discord; official Infinite Flight teams, like the IFATC, as well as the IFVARB and many VAs have switched to using Discord to utilize its extensive administrative controls, ease of use with roles and bots, and voice channels.
However, there are other platforms, such as the IFC or Slack, which VAs can opt for.”

Given how very few VAs don’t use Discord at this point, it probably wouldn’t be worthwhile to setup. It would be quite tricky to setup as a filter on the IFVARB site, given each VA lists their requirements on their websites.
It could probably be done manually, but it would probably require more effort than its worth.

There’s 104 active VAs - I would say less than 10 of them don’t use Discord.

Hey both!
Whilst we use discord to coordinate group flights / events and our general chats within our community, should you wish to join us, we most definitely would not consider ‘not being allowed Discord’ a barrier. Overall, we try hard not to reject anyone who wishes to join our gang!
Should you wish to join, you can apply via the link in our thread, but please make a note in the additional comments that you will not be able to join our Discord server. You will be able to access our route databases, IFC events (albeit few but we are working on some more!), fly with our community callsign and maintain your flight logs and promotions via our crew centre!
