How do i report low fuel to atc/save fuel?

hey guys, im currently doing EGLL-EHAM in a KLM cityhopper, Ive been flying for 21 mins and have an ETE of 32 mins. I must have not calculated my fuel correctly, because my ETE thing is showing yellow, so do u guys know how i can tell ATC that im low on fuel? (or save fuel (without spending more time flying))

thanks!

You need to be in the air for a minimum of 1 hour to report emergency fuel.

You can only report low fuel if it’s actually low enough to be an emergency, in which case there will be an option that pops up automatically to allow you to do so. There is no default option, it will only allow you to do so if you are below a certain fuel level.

oh right, ok. so how would i save fuel?

Maybe try increasing altitude to find thinner air, but with such a short haul with not much time left that may not work - you can only try 🚀

I mean, maybe bring more fuel and plan better, considering that flight is at most 45 minutes, and then you won’t have to worry about low fuel if you always bring at least 30-60 minutes more :)

Depending on how bad, divert.

just landed safely, twas a grand landing all the same

If the airspace is busy and you know you will be put into a line where you wont be able to make it I recommend diverting to a nearby Suitable airport
