How do I float less during Flare?

Hey, need some advice on how to float less during Flare. I thought it was because I was always a bit high on approach, but I worked on it and I’m now pretty straight on the glide slope, but once I get to “50, 40, 30, 20,10…” and I flare, there’s always a bit of a float and I usually end up overshooting the touchdown zone by a lot😅 the Landing’s smooth but only when I eventually stop floating. would love to hear some Tips:)

I suggest not pulling too much on the yoke once you reach the 30ft callout. Idling the engines at the correct altitude is also a good measure to stop floating: On the A320 and B737 family is at 30ft.

The eJets don’t need flaring because the ground effect softens the landing, idle at 20ft. The Max doesn’t need too much flaring either, just ride the ground effect and don’t pull on the yoke.

All of these is from experience in the game, and it’s worked out pretty well.

Whenever I have any doubt whatsoever about control and flight model physics, I immediately go to solo mode and practice as many repetitions as necessary to get some muscle memory breakthrough in controlling a flight operation, whether landing, takeoff, or anything during cruise. Experience is always the best teacher.

But in terms of floating in particular, I pay attention to what the FPV is doing within the ground effect area. Its tendency to float rather than descend gives you good feedback on how much to “do little with pitch or power” vs giving some muted inputs where necessary. Practice with observation for a good feedback experience.

By not flaring to hard lol

And when you flare, slowly pull throttle back

I usually pull the throttle back at 50 ft and then flare at about 5 degrees at 10 feet in the A359 pulling the throttle back at a higher altitude makes it so that it won’t start climbing when I flare but it’s different for every plane and it’s also different for every person see what works out best for you there is also a lot of YouTube vids out there abt landing perfectly

The general idea is not to flare too hard. You’re not trying to butter (unless you’re trying to, then this doesn’t rly apply), but rather to put the aircraft down smoothly. You don’t have to flare too hard because the ground effect will slow your descent as you land.

I recommend doing this: not pulling up too much, slowly pulling up, and to reduce throttle to 0% on the 30fT call-out.

No advice can compare to your own practice. When you practice enough, perfect landings will become routine.

Consider advice as a reference, and always prioritize practice!
