How do I execute a hold?

Hi,
So I looked at a different topic (which is closed) on how to execute a holding pattern as a pilot, though that was pre global, and I am still sorta confused after reading the post.

My question: Do you have to manually set AP for the turns, or is there a way you can set the NAV to do the same thing?

All responses would be appreciated.

You could set the nav, but you would have to delete your current FPL and make a new one with the holding pattern added.

How would you add the hold to the flight plan though?

NAV does not follow an issued holding pattern. You have to fly that manually.

You make your flight plan a hold. So if it a circle hold, you would make the holding part of your FPL a circle. It’s confusing and it would be better to just use the HDG manually.

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying

Yea. I think I’ll just use HDG

First off, if you don’t understand what a hold is, watch this video:

Secondly, You can not set your NAV to go in a hold, this has to be done manually unless you have mastered A/P.
