I think everyone will agree that the lighting system is very bad and unrealistic.

The natural lighting is good but the man-made lighting definitely needs improvement. Fortunately, that’s in development

Hot take:

Auto-start feature needs to be removed from the expert server. It’s called “expert” server for a reason, and if you don’t even know how to have a proper startup (especially in Infinite Flight, where its heavily simplified), then just stay at the training server until you’ve learned.

Expert server is already unprofessional enough anyways… seeing people rotate at 210 knots and putting gear up at 2000 feet… (Unless there’s a wind-shear of course, then you’re exempted). Oh, and landing at 200 knots nosediving as well :grimacing:

Hot take indeed! Me personally, I won’t use normal takeoff speeds because they will crash my aircraft into the ground because it can’t climb with an engine failure and also because they are way too far from the bottom of the sim’s drag curve, even in a dirty configuration. You should not need TOGA to save you, because FLEX/Assumed temp. and derated takeoffs already satisfy this. The problem is the sim’s physics are way too different from real life to even be using them. Ironically, people taking off faster than normal have a better safety margin than those who don’t (Should’ve made that a hot take).

That can be true, but never in my life have i rotated past 180 knots, let alone 200, and crash right after :sweat_smile:

Honestly all you need is the right calculations.

For instance, I like to calculate my thrust setting by dividing my total weight with the MTOW which gives my percent. I then go to simbrief and check the performance page to check what the takeoff setting says there. For example if it says “D-TO1” which means Derated Takeoff 1, simbrief is telling us to takeoff with around ~95% thrust setting (could be less). But this can usually be different than the manual calculations you just did (the one you divided total weight with MTOW)
, so what I do is add the percentages together, if that makes sense.

Let’s just say my manual calculations were 84%, but Simbrief says “D-TO1” so they tell you to takeoff around 95%. What I do is add 84+95 which gives me 179, and then, once again, I divide (by 2 this time). 179/2=89.5

So boom, 89.5% is already pretty good rough estimate for most aircraft, but this next step ultimately depends on the type of aircraft you are flying.

If I’m flying a MAX, I would leave it as is. No need to change my 89-90% thrust calculation because it’s already a overpowered aircraft.

If I’m flying a 737NG, I may need to just slightly raise it by maybe 2-3%.

Lastly, if I’m flying the A35K, I might need to have a 5-10% power increase, as I find it very heavy.

And so on and so forth.

This may seem like a lot of work for a simulator, but trust me once you get the flow and know what you’re doing, this will be very worth it.

Btw how I takeoff realistically is by maintaining around V2 and V2+20 after liftoff, preferably with a 15-20 degree pitch. And then I reduce my power + angle of attack simultaneously once reaching thrust reduction altitude & acceleration altitude, somewhere around 1000 feet AGL, which altogether gets me to my flap cleanup stages. (This is actually what pilots do IRL, because it is efficient and is noise abatement to not scare the rich neighborhoods :joy:). But this is a whole nother story.

Hot Take: The A320neo family no longer needs the name “NEO” as those engines are no longer “new” and they’re the only options for the A320 family.

But if you sell a plane then how do you know? New in aviation is 1-5 years. Plus, it is still a very new engine option not only for airbus itself but for the industry as a whole.
