Horizon Airlines | MSO-SEA | De Havilland Canada Dash-8

Hey IFC!
I’m surprised I haven’t posted this route before! I actually fly it quite a bit, it’s a really interesting route. Lots of scenery, especially for the first and last 20 minutes of the flight. In between then is very barren, it had all of its top soil removed the several times that
Glacial Lake Missoula flooded.

Our ride for today

Zooming out of Missoula

Climbing somewhat high

Flying over Mullen pass

Flying over eastern Washington. All plains, no mountains😭

My name for this plane is “dash”

Leaving the plains

Before modern airliners it was difficult for aircraft to get to Seattle coming from the East. Back then, the Cascades were quite the barrier, as they are tall and often had low visibility.
Here is a good story about an aircraft that crashed in the cascades.

Made it out of the cascades safely

Safe landing in Seattle

I hope y’all enjoyed!

Where is Mullen pass.

Oh sorry I meant Mullan pass, darn autocorrect. It’s a mountain pass on the border between idaho and Montana. It’s really close to lookout pass.

Nice love the dash 8 in the mountains! Also it looks good in the horizon/Alaskan livery.
