We had a great week in Sarajevo and the surrounding region which we spent admiring Ottoman architecture, eating great Balkan cuisine and tasting excellent local wines. My favorite spot was definitely Mount Trebević, which has an excellent and accessible hiking trail with stunning views and lush conifer forests.
Today, we’re hopping onto a Turkish flight to Istanbul, Türkiye. We left the Hotel Europe at 7:30, and after a quick 20-minute drive, arrived at Sarajevo International Airport. We checked our bags, got a solid breakfast of Burek and coffee, and did a bit of shopping for souvenirs. Before long, it was time to board our ride to Istanbul.
Our seat is very solid for a regional narrowbody- we have IFE, albeit quite dated, but the seat itself is very comfortable. I have a good feeling about this flight.

The crew served up some substantial sandwiches with desserts and drinks once we levelled off at FL350. I had a beef Kebab Tombik with warm baklava and apple juice. It was a very solid meal, very impressed that we have service, let alone hot meals, on such a short flight.

Parked at the gate. Overall, a very solid flight, and we will be looking forward to flying with Turkish soon. Now, time to head to our hotel and settle in, then go out and explore beautiful Istanbul! 
We will be spending a week here before heading to Athens 
for twelve days which we will mostly spend on various islands on the archipelago.
