Hong Kong Planespotting (Questions)

Calling all Hong Kongers (is that the term?) and HKG planspotters!

So I’ve PMed @tacobell1015 about this already, but I’d like to get some more suggestions/tips about planespotting at HKG from other community members. So my choices are either Skydeck or HAECO depending on the runway direction, and I already know how to get to both (thanks @tacobell1015 again). But can some people please provide (if possible) sample photos from each location and a picture of each location, as when I search for HKG planespotting nothing comes up except for several websites which I’ve seen many times. Also, suggestions for the time of day I should go would be appreciated. I plan on taking the ferry from Macau to Hong Kong (which is one hour) then making my way to the airport. This will most likely happen in the next week(s). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

These were from the Skydeck using my old camera. IF you have a newer DSLR like I have now the photos are stunning.

Those are awesome! Unfortunately with South China weather these days you can’t get sunny days like those :/ But hopefully when I go they use 25L/R, so I can go up the Skydeck, however it’s unlikely as during this time of the year they use 07L/R. I’m stuck using one of those “compact” digital cameras as our 7D has a lense problem.

Give it a month or two. The runways will change a lot more often and soon enough 25 will be in use. In may is when they start using it more often. June-October is when its the common runway.

Sure. I might end up going mid-late April so I can pick my brother up from the airport and go planespotting.

I’ve only Plane spotted in the terminal, so I wouldn’t know much. 🙂
