Holiday over - its very cold back here || AYT-VNO APR29 Trip Report

Well well well,

I am back from holiday, and let me tell you, I want to go back. The weather here in Vilnius is too cold to adapt :frowning:. Take me back to 25 degree weather. Anyways, here are the flight details and photos!

Flight sliated

Callsign: GJT7XU
Registration: LY-TUI
Flight time: 3h08min
Cruise altitude: FL360, FL380
Seat: 23F

The trip started with massive delays coming out of the hotel. Because this is Turkey, especially the Serik region, I’ve noticed, there’s always a traffic congestion. So we got stuck in one. Not on the bus. The bus got stuck there for about 15 minutes (was supposed to depart 16:15L, departed 16:45L), and then we were stuck for another 15 minutes because of 4 people who managed to miss their bus (checkout was at 12pm you guys). So we made it to the airport around an hour and ten minutes before departure, so good start. Thankfully, the lines were empty at the check in, so made it through quickly. Our friends, however, not so lucky. The check-in desk closed right in front of their eyes, and had to cut in the line to the check-in next to them. Through passport control, then security, where their screens have decided not to work (brilliant job Fraport and TAV). Made it through there, and at last we had to go to our gate, thankfully not a massive walk away. Here was LY-TUI, a former TUI Belgium plane, who took us home.

Did some planespotting, and it was time to board. We boarded one of the first ones, so this was our view from seat 23F. Dirty window did not surprise me at all.

Right, pushback time. We pushbacked 3 minutes early (not like in Vilnius where we taxied out 40 minutes late), and started taxiing out.

Woah, pretty sunset.

After departure, we climbed out into a cloud. A very big one might I say. Don’t have a picture of that sadly. Here is my girlfriends gifted plushie travelling with me.

Decided to have a quick meal. Which was just some chips and water. Paid 5.5 euros for this, Not my proudest purchase.

It got dark very quickly, and it was time to descent. Managed to catch a beacon shot, otherwise, nothing was seen out of the window.

Final turn to Vilnius!

10/10 landing, just needed to absolutely slam on the brakes and fly me directly to the cockpit apparently. Ignore the shocking quality of this photo. Couldn’t have done anything better than that.

And that’s it from the pictures! After that, we parked somewhere at a random stand, got a free (not really, the holiday was like 3000 euros) bus ride around the airport. One of our friends managed to forget their phone on the plane and had to run back to retrieve it, not sure how it unfolded afterwards. Waited 10 minutes for the baggage, got in a taxi and left for home. Once home, managed to sleep for 13 hours. Overall, Antalya’s Airport systems need a proper fix, and a perhaps more simple way to navigate the airport. Airport is like a 1/10 (both Antalya and Vilnius). #donttrustfraportownedairports
