Holding pattern

I was flying yesterday from LEMD to EGLL, while approaching EGLL runway 09L the controller gave me a holding pattern to follow until given further instructions I was following it but didn’t stay perfectly on the line especially when turning to the opposite direction

I really want to know how to perfectly stay on the holding pattern on IF

All holds in IF are north-south so you can fly on AP and switch between 0-180 headings.
Don’t think it’s a big issue if you are a bit off the line as long as you don’t interfere with other aircraft.
There is no other way to stay on the line.
