So I just wanted to know, when u r given taxi route instructions, and I had to hold short of a taxiway… how do I ask for clearance to cross?
if a controller holds you at a taxiway, they will continue your taxi for you when it is clear, you do not have to request

“Southwest 813, ready to taxi to runway 22L” = Am I clear to continue taxi (after waiting for a few minutes
Sometimes, on the D&T route, an automatic hold is issued under certain circumstances for taxiways. We’re all human and may occasionally miss these holds. If you’ve been waiting for a while and the area seems clear, I would suggest re-requesting.

yeah if its been a significant amount of time, one request to continue taxi is appropriate

Chances are, they didn’t forget about you. The best thing to do is hold your position until instructed to continue taxiing. If you’re absolutely certain they’ve forgotten about you, you can always send another taxi request.
